Ms. Gaynor has been teaching for six years. She completed student teaching in Biology and Human Physiology/Anatomy at Lane Tech and immediately began teaching Environmental Science and Biology at Orr Academy. After teaching at Orr Academy for 2 years, Ms. Gaynor moved to Lane Tech and taught Chemistry, regular Biology and honors Biology.
She is originally from Winnetka, Illinois and enjoys snowboarding, scuba diving, tennis, traveling, reading and science (of course)!
Ms. Gaynor has traveled extensively throughout the world and has been to 34 different countries on six different continents. Her favorite country that she has traveled to is South Africa and Vietnam.
Something unusual: Prior to switching careers, Ms. Gaynor used to be a marine biologist and worked on Whale Watching boats in Massachusetts as a Research Scientist & Naturalist. She also worked on commercial fishing vessels for The National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration (NOAA), which is a federal agency focused on the condition of the oceans and the atmosphere. Lastly, she is the oldest of 4 sisters, who are each one year apart and is very close to her family.
